Congratulations on the new bike, i know you'll love it. I got mine at the end of august and absolutely love it, zero problems with it and couldn't be happier. Well, maybe if it had a bit more power, but nothing a few bolt ons can't cure. Have fun.

More power? Heh, I've always heard the stock yz125's were faster than most others.

Welcome aboard mad biker. That's a pretty nice step from a ttr to a yz. How long have you been riding? Just curious. And congratulations on the new bike!

The yz is a nice 125 especially the 05, but KTM is the powerhouse of the 125 pingers, and the RM is probably next in line. The CR, YZ and KX are left to fight for their order in the mix. But with a few bolt-ons and some port work they are all competitive.

Well, who doesn't want more power? I guess it's something you just get used to. When i first got the bike i hadn't ridden anything for 4 years, so it felt like an absolute rocket ship. Then after a couple months you just get used to it, and want that "first time" snap back. So on go the v force, pipe, silencer, blah blah. When i raced it last year i didn't ever get passed on the straights, but that could be that anyone fast was already way ahead of me.

I have been riding for about 12 years.I started out on a honda z50 when I was 4 ,then my brothers xr 80 when I was about 6 or 7 ,then I rode my dad's 1980 yz80 when I was about 9. I was 12 I bought the ttr. i'm 15 now and am about 5' 11" and 170 pounds. I have a neighbor that has an 89 yz250 and he lets me ride once and a while, but it has a little more power than I need.

I'll try and post some pictures when I get it ,If it doesn't snow

If I am not mistaken the KX is the horsepower king this year.

The YZ however is a sweet bike. You can add a pipe, Vforce and you will be set.

The bike would be great for woods etc.

I would look at getting a glide plate or bash plate for the under-belly of your bike.

This will prevent costly damage to your cases and frame rails from rocks, logs etc that can be found on the trails.

Also, handguards are worth a look, to save your levers and perches.

Most of all, have fun on your new machine!!!

I just picked it up today.I LOVE It! I will try and get some pix soon.
Just one more question, did any of you guys get a spoke wrench with the bike when you got it? when I was looking in my manual it showed a spoke wrench a power valve tool and some jets.I got the power valve tool and jets but not the spoke wrench .
Thanks

To me the thing is rocket after coming off of the ttr.I haven't gotten it broken in yet so I haven't opened it up yet.The suspension is great and the 6 speed is realy close ratio so It seems like it would be a great trail bike. I havent gotten to ride it but for a few minutes up and down the road. When I get it broken in and get to ride for a few hours I'll get back to you.

Default test ride

Ok, I got to take it for a good ride today. It is a really nice bike. It tackles tight hilly woods pretty well. It could use a little more bottom end power but if you give it a little clutch she flies right along. The suspension is really great. The thing really screams when you want it to go.I hope to try it out on an mx track this summer. There is a rumor that someone is going to build a track about two miles up the road.I hope it's true

If you get one I think you will get used to it really quick,I know my little brother did who also has a ttr.

Go to your dealer and get that spoke wrench, most bikes do come with them.
How is she on plugs? Do you have any other 125's to compare it to one the trails?
