I have used them, but I find the filtration is not as good as OEM. They also most of the time require some rejeting due to the increase air flow. I went back to OEM.

Generally speaking, K&N filters flow more than their OEM counterparts, which means they filter less. I've found this is true for motorcycles and for cars. It depends a lot on where you ride and the types of environments you expect to encounter, but if you have a lot of fine dust or sand I would say the K&N is not a great idea.

I have used K&N filters on many different dirt bikes but, I must say for a simplistic use... I'd stay with the foam filter and get a 2nd one to use when you are cleaning 1 ...A good foam filter with a good clean & re-coating useing the right oil will trap more trail/track dirt's!

K&N is a good filter & does work but, I'd stick with foam !!

I've spoken with our Honda Service rep about the pro's and con's of K&N airfilters. He told me the same things everyone else has mentioned so far. His words were a little more blunt to be honest. He flat out told me "I've seen K&N filters ruin so many top ends in my day that I'll never run one."

Which when I thought about it makes total sense. If the filter is letting more airflow through it, it also has to be letting more dirt through it. Dirt and internal combustion don't play well with eachother
