| Is it normal to have some side to side play in the front wheel bearing?? I took it all apart and there's no sign of anything worn, it's seems kind of odd the way the bushings just engage the dust cover... Is there any adjustment that can be made, or do I just need to replace the bearings?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Scott |

| There should be no play. If you have access to measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) measure the distance between the bottom of each bearing bore in the hub. Then measure the spacer. Cut (machine only - no files, hacksaws, etc) the spacer to make it the exact same lenght as the distance between the bearing seats in the hub. I have run into numerous older YZs where the spacer was a few tenths of a MM longer than the distance between the bearing seats. I machined the spacers down. New bearings sound like they are in your future. Scott |
