I don't know about a YZ, but my sons RM125 you did not have to drain the oil.

Here is what you need..
1. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2. An impact wrench. I picked up a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for $29.00 locally - Money well spent
3. A flywheel puller - There is no good way to get the flywheel off without it.

You do not have to remove the flywheel that is already on their. The flywheel weight is just that....additional weight. You do not need to drain the oil. Remove side cover, loosen the nut holding the flywheel on (impact wrench works great, if you don't have one, you will need to stop the engine from turning over somehow in order to get it loose) put flywheel weight on, torque to spec and replace side cover. Don't forget to tighten the set screws that hold the flywheel weight in place. Best mod I ever did.

The only reason that I would remove the flywheel once you have the nut off is to clean it up. When I did my 02, I noticed that there was a lot of tarnishing on the flywheel so I pulled it off. I was glad that I did since things where pretty dirty, evidentally the gasket had been leaking a bit and moisture was getting in there. Other than that, the installation is a breeze, if you have somebody to help, you can just have them hold the rear brake on while you crack the flywheel nut loose. If that doesnt work you can feed some white nylon rope into the plug hole while the piston is on the down stroke, dont forget to leave some hanging out, and then you can brake the nut loose easily. There is more info on that procedure on the Steahly website or in the packageing that your flywheel comes in. As far as torque specs, I really dont know for sure, I just did it really snug.
