Default filing clutch basket grooves out

WHAT AN AWESOME SITE! Great to see you guys in the know sharing your knowledge with us not so ejamacated folk.

I am having thoughts on filing the high points of the grooves out of my worn clutch basket and although i know this is a bit bodgy bros i was thinkin of putting permanent marker on the worn area and filing down as far as leaving a light coat of marker on the edge. My fears are that if i dont the exact same off each edge that the clutch plates may warp due to the uneven contact of each plate on the basket. Has anyone done this before with good results or should i just sell our kids and grab a new basket

Any help would be appreciated

P.s. Am i right in saying that these grooves the reason why my clutch is so hard?

That's ok. I do this with oem stock baskets at least once if not twice before I throw them away. I know some may argu this point, but I've done it on both 125's and 250's and it works great. After my second file I replace with a aftermarket basket. Hope this helps. Welcome to ATM.
