Default Ethanol

Fuel question: I drive about 30 mins out of my way to get 93 octane ethanol-free gas for my son's YZ125. There is a gas station about 5 mins away that now has 89 octane ethanol-free gas, I know the 93 should be a better option, but if I get lazy or need a quick fill up, how much power loss are we talking about if I use the 89 vs the 93?

Also, there is also another station that has 100 octane ethanol-free that I could get (it's way out of my way) but would that require rejetting the carb? Thanks!

89 is a bit low. You can add an octane booster to it.
The power octane will have a faster burn and could cause detonation issues and a knock.
If so, it will damage the piston in short order.

Ok, thanks. Do you think the 93 is good enough? Haven't had issues yet with 93 but I'm not opposed to octane booster to the 93, thanks!

93 should be fine.

If you don't have spark knock with 93, it is fine. You might try the 89. If you don't get any spark knock with 89, there is no harm to your engine. Timing settings and compression ratio are what will determine the octane you can run.
