Doug Henry and the 05 YZ250

Doug is now riding SuperMoto for Yamaha.

He races one motocross national each year...Southwick (his hometown track). Here is an exerpt from an interview with him yesterday:

"When I’ve talked to you in the past few years at Southwick, you’ve come into this race at various degrees of fitness and preparation – what about this time?"



"Out of a ten, I would say I’m probably a seven – I’m not too bad. Though every year, it seems that I wish I had ridden more! I chose the YZ250 this year because it’s just such a fun bike, and easy to ride. It’s actually been a few years since I’ve been on a 250 two stroke, and it was just something different that I wanted to try. With the new aluminum frame they are just such awesome bikes. They handle so well; especially in the sand -- they don’t wear you out."

I saw some pics of him when he won the Florida GNCC and he was hitting a mad made triple (made out of trees) and was only one of a couple of guys that even attempted it. The boy still has skilz!

Good to see him on a 2 Stroke, but it is kind of ironic because he was kind of the one that gave 4 strokes their big boost, thus decreasing the number of 2 strokes significantly.

Allmost is the key word there. Anyway he did great, I was more impressed with Dowds riding the past two weeks though.

Seems like he beat about 33 guys younger than him and what,,about 31 of them were on 4 strokes. Kind of shows you the level of commitment of a few that are on what should be their last year of their factory contracts.
