YES!!! use any brand of high quality premix oil, I use Maxima or when I can't find it, Bel-ray. I would recommend, though everyone has their opinion, a 32:1 ratio (four ounces of oil per gallon of fuel)

Welcome to . It sounds like youre new to this moto thing. Not trying to rip on you but the question you asked is VERY basic, which implies youre not ready to ride this thing just yet. Let me explain before you start cursing me out. Should you have NOT asked this question and filled your scooter up with reg gas youd be looking at a disaster costing you up to 1000.00 to have it repaired. Follow me? Stay with me. You have one thing going for you right now and that is . Alot of caring, knowledgeable people that are willing to help as long as youre willing to care enough. Heres what you need to do.
1- Buy a manual for your specific year and make bike-not one of those generic ones.
2-Read it everytime you hit the John for the next few weeks
3-Start a thread titled "Im new to this"
4-In the thread, type the following "I just bought a 96 yz125 and havent a clue as to what it's all about. What do I need to know before I even start this thing?''
Be willing to listen, ask questions, and follow directions. You may get some teasing along the way, but thats the price of tuition to this University. Take it in stride for all it's worth, just good ole fun, dont take it personal.

Ok, now run off, youve got some work to do.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help me! I just ordered the manual for my 1996 yz. The reason i asked such a basic question is because i didn’t get any manual or anything when i bought the bike. I am not as noobie as the question might make me seem. I am an atv rider/racer and have a 01 blaster and a mini bike too (honda xr 70), so i am used to not mixing the oil and gas and wanted to make sure not to mess anything up. as for specific knowledge, i have rebuild my entire top/bottom end on my blaster, rebuilt the carb and basically everything else you can do to a blaster. as far as dirtbikes i am a total newbie, so things like the radiator and other parts that aren’t on my blaster i am totally new to. Thanks again and i will def. take your advice and learn about my dirtbike before i do anything (i hate wasting money haha) Thanks Thanks!!
