Just be very careful to get all the metal flakes off of the stator. It's magnatized and will not let go of some of the junk. Compressed air and and good rag are your best bet.

What did the oil look like? Looks like it has been a while since they changed it or even put oil in it! Best of luck to ya!

Thumbs up Re: Do i have a flywheel weight or not?

That's not much rust compared to my 88 kdx flywheel when I took it off last year. I cleaned mine with a bench grinder (wire wheel side) and then clear coated it. Mine is working fine - I had to replace my stator, the poor thing finally arced out. I agree it looks to be stock with no flywheel weight!

That's the stock flywheel. No weight on it. Hit that thing up with some WD40, and get a new gasket.

Re: Do i have a flywheel weight or not?

I received an email from Steathy Offroad and they claim that there IS a flywheel weight installed and that it is "probably welded on"

WTF?

From that picture it looks stock to me as well. Did you ask the former owner about it?

it was previously owned by GNCC rider Barry Hawk.

According to Steathy's website Hawk uses their products.

Hmmm....I think if I were you and were concerned about it, I would try and get ahold of Mr. Hawk. Did you buy the bike from a dealer or right from him?

Why would'nt it? A little rust inside the ignition cover is pretty standard on bikes that run off-road. Not all bikes stay on a groomed MX track.

Yes that looks like a weld on weight, it might be by Zipty racing.
