Been riding for 6 mths, ride a TTR-125L with airbox mod. Not enough power. I'm not big enough for CRF250X or CRF250R so I want an 85 two-stroke. which one should I get CR or YZ?

Man if you could ride a ttr 125L then a crf250 wouldn't be to big because my buddy has a 230f and it's just as powerful as my old yz 85 if I was you i would strap up and get me a yz 125

Get a YZ85. Going from a TTR125L to a YZ85 is going to a gigantic change. I've ridden both bikes back to back and the difference is like you wouldn't believe.

Ive ridden a cr80rb and yz85 back to back and both are great bikes, but I liked the cr more. It was fairly evenly matched performance wise, but the cr just came better built IMO.

Yup, I'm sure the CR and YZ would be pretty close to equal.

From what I have read, the YZ is a better bike then the CR. I had a CR 80 way back when we had to chisel the wheels out of solid stone, (1980? I think). That bike went like stink, but I guess the YZ is a little better now. I am glad we have rubber tires now, you think you got arm pump from the track, dang! Those knobs are hard to chisel.

Going from a TTR to a YZ is a big change. I did that. My TTR would drag ***, so I got a YZ 80. It goes better. The major changes is POWERBAND and suspension. Get the powerband under control before anything. Suspension is awesome. If you want the bigger tires, go with a CR 85 expert. I dont think you can get a YZ w/ big wheels. I couldnt. Have fun....My opinion.

Well the yz has a harder hit, so if u want a smoother power get the cr, but if u want a hit get the yz

this applies to most bikes i believe: Honda-Linear, softer but NOT SLOWER powerband Yamaha-Non linear, the powerband is hard hitting and not as relaxing, i supose i can say that, as the yamaha. -both bikes are equally fast but it just depends on how you like your power delivered. if you are a crazy throttle ripping kinda rider, go with the yz, it will suit your style, if you like solid, evenly distributed power, go with the cr

yz85! It rips! I bought my son a '03, When I can peel the handlebars from his hands, I ride his for kicks- I am 5'11", 225 lbs. and the bike loves to wheelie with my big fat butt on it! What a total blast to ride, It gets going so fast every now and again I might miss a turn and go right thru the woods! Thank God I haven't bopped a tree- my son would kill me! I have unintentionally ripped wheelies in THIRD! Kick-butt bike! Forget the CR!
