i have a 110 90 19 tire on a 2002 yz125 but everywhere i look up its saying that i should use a 100 90 19 tire. will it make a difference?. and my rear sprocket has 53t not sure for the front yet. is this tire too wide for the motor to spin? the guy i bought it from did alot of trail riding but im wanting to race it track only. thanks for your time reading....

I doubt you will notice any difference at all. I have run a 130 70 19 before. That tire size is fine. I can't really help you on the sprocket. It sounds a couple teeth big but I honestly don't know. Somebody else can answer that question. Maybe you could Google to find the stock gearing.

I believe sprockets should be 13/49.And don't worry about the tire.

wider tire harder turning but better straight away grab... smaller tire quicker turning...etc... But u prob wont even notice 5mm on each side

the 110 is just 10mm wider and a smidge taller (4.5mm, for a total of 9mm). i wouldnt worry about it. i run a 120/80/19 on my cr, which calls for a 110/90/19

I run a 110 on my 03 250f which came with a 100 stock. Sprocket does sound a bit high but it depends on what you have up front. Divide the back buy the front to get your final gear ratio. google MX gear ratio and you can read up on it to find where you need to be Last edited by Duran676; 05-02-2009 at 04:55 PM.

your ideal gear ratio all depends on what you are riding, and you said you ride tracks, depending on the tracks you ride, change it for that, if it is a tight track, short straights and tight corners, id run a slightly larger front sprocket so you have more low end power and can make time coming out of the corners, but it will sacrifice a little on top if its a longer more "outdoors" style track with long straights and big jumps id run a stock or slightly smaller front sprocket so you have the majority of your power in the higher RPM's and can carry your speed down the track, but it will sacrifice power down low, so you'll have to carry more speed through the corners

i know i said i was done posting here.....but that didnt mean i would check the site .....but im pretty sure you just said that backwards . smaller = more low end torque. larger = more top end but it sacrifices down low ..... reverse for rear sprocket ...good day
