Default clutch springs ?

hi, are all clutch springs the same, as in length and spring tension because i was thinking if i change these would it make my clutch easier to pull in because it seems to stiff compared to friends bikes. and would it make any difference to my clutch cable being out of threads for the in line adjustment to take up slack. on a previous post someone said change plates had a look but not sure what is good or bad wear. thanks.

Stick with what is called for on your bike or you will have a slipping clutch. The spring rates are different for almost every bike depending on engine size, torque and number of clutch plates. Too many variables to mess with the spring rates.

You can make the clutch oull a little easier by drilling out the clutch actuater arm and moving the attachment out further giving you more leverage.

Get yourself a new clutch cable (fairly cheap) and keep it lubed and the pull will be much better than with the cable you have on right now.

Do you not have any adjustment on the clutch? What kind of bike is it?

To cover the part about knowing if your plates are worn or not, you will need a manual for your bike and a set of calipers to measure the thickness and see if it is within tolerance.

Good luck and let us know how it goes! You can take the barrel off the end of the cable and shorten it. I think there is a thread on this site that explains how to go about doing that. I'll see if I can find it for you.
