im stumped, i currently own a ttr 125 it was a great starter bike but as i got better i started to jump higher and go faster. i was with a bunch of my buddies the other day and one just got a brand new cr85 this bike was cool. i raced him around a track and won, but he just got his bike and was getting used to it. anyways my question is i want to sell my ttr 125 but i dont know what type of bike to buy a yz80 would be nice but my friend says thiers no point but i want the suspension and power band. so should i get a 100cc pinger or 80-85cc pinger b/c i feel theres no point in me having a 125 (too big) but also i feels theres no real big diffreance between my bike and a yz80 help me im 5'5 16yrs old love jumping and riding hard and i weigh a whopping 125lbs

Without knowing either your friend or yourself, I would guess that you are a better rider. That 85 should have spanked you. Over time, your friend should make that perfectly clear. The CR85 has better everything except fuel economy. The TTR is a trail bike and the CR is a racer. If you're going to be jumping, the forks and monshock on the TTR are very inferior to the racing suspensions of the CR, YZ or RM lines. In all fairness to the TTR, the others can cost almost twice as much. There's a reason for that. SO, you're really comparing apples to oranges. Remeber, the bike is only half of the equation, the other half is you.

twoofeach is right. it sounds like the tt is holding you back, which it will if you are trying to jump and ride motocross. And when you get used to riding the 80 or 100, and start riding it in the meat of the power, you will realize how much faster it is. best of luck.

If $ is not a factor, and your willing to respect the power, I would recommend a 125 smoker. Or better yet, a 250f for awesome but smoother power delivery.

Yes, I agree with pragmatic393. If possible try out a 125 or 250F. It will give you plenty of room to grow with and you will learn how to use clutch well with 125. And besides, you will be the big boy of the crew with a 125!

Go with the 125 or 250f, you'll be plenty happy. When I got my RM 125, I was 5'4", an inch shorter than you, and I weighed less than you. It shouldn't take long for you to get used to the height, maybe a week or two if you ride often. Get the 125 class bike.

Yeah go with a 125 that bike will LAST YOU A LONG TIME! Spitfire is pretty much true even though he has lost a brain cells after accepting his defeat by me!

I would get in the 125/250f class unless you have alot of money to blow. It won't be long when you grow out of that 80 and you'll beable to keep it longer. just pick you color.

I would either get a yz 125 or a Kx 125..the bike will last you longer but it will take you time to get used to the powerband and the speed diffrences. The ttr is made for trails and not for jumping and racing in a motocross setting. You can find a used 125 usually for cheap..with the yzs find something no older then a 96 or 97!

We've been there, done that. 2002 a KX 80, 2003 a KX 100, 2004 we finally went to the 125 class with a YZ 250F. No doubt, at your age, height and weight you will quickly outgrow anything under a 125 class bike. Pick your color, pick your smoke, they're all good we just happen to like red (mine) and blue (mxmike's) thumpers. Popfuhre
