That's been shortened from stock but no where as short as a PC or FMF shorty. The 2nd bracket and mount are not needed.

I had my stock silencer shortened amd it was close to the shorty. It didn't need the bracket. The only different was the shape. But the true Shorty livened it up a bit

Yep, I cut down the silencer, It is the same length as a 304r P.C.
It is 10 inches long, but much better quality

Heh, mine has Well... not really:
I thought about doing the same thing to my silencer but it seems like there isn't much to remove. Is the change in power characteristics that noticible with that little bit of can removed? If so, I might try it on my 125. I always seem to stay in the lower end of the band so a bit more power there would help.

if you cut your silencer it will give it more torqe and bottom end power, BUT. . . cut it too much it will cut your top end pull, i almost always cut mine, (i have all kawi's) on my 2 stroke 250 i cut 2 inches off, 4 stroke 250 about three, and on my 450 i don't touch it, big power already! i mean BIG power!!!

I have always gotten better throttle response (like it needed that) and better bottom mid range power (like it needs that either) I just like to tweak stuff..

Maybe I'll cut a few inches off my stock silencer and just throw some rivets in and call it good.

That's the beauty of this mod, is it isn't that much louder than the stock silencer, the stock bike was very quiet, it wont really be that noticeable in sound as the inner core of the silencer has larger holes for more sound absorbing.

One of my friends did the same thing to the silencer on his '01 KX500. It sounds and performs awesome.
