Default Bummer! '00 YZ125

Picked up up a yz125 in-a-box for quite cheap. PO says it ran but would foul plugs. He took it to a "mechanic" who decided to pull apart the right case cover for some reason and then left it that way. Well, I was planning on putting it back together to confirm if it ran before deciding what to do with it and I found that the linkage for the power valve was not disconnected to remove the case cover... Instead, the "mechanic" (in all fairness it was probably the kid himself) broke the linkage in order to remove the case cover.
The good news is that the part is steel and I have a welder! So, does anyone know what the length on the rod should be? I'd greatly appreciate the info since the two parts don't seem to line up just right. I'm thinking a little chunk may have gone missing and I am thinking the length of the linkage is critically important.

I'd get one off of ebay. I looked on Rocky Mountain and it was like $80 for it. Pricey but I like that stuff to be within spec and not welded.

Thanks for the input. The only one on ebay currently is more expensive than a new one. I also like parts within spec... Hence me asking if someone is willing to do me the favor of passing me the spec.
