| I'm needing some advice, I keep hearing use only DOT 4 brake fluid on your bike, But what is wrong with DOT 3? will it hurt my system if I use it? Will my brakes not work? |

| DOT 4 has higher wet and dry boiling points than DOT 3. If you drag your brakes a lot, particularly the rear, DOT 3 may end up boiling and you get severe brake fade. DOT 5.1 has even higher boiling points and is specified for KTM brakes. Oh, to answer your question, if you aren't abusive when it comes to brakes DOT 3 will be fine. | Exactly, you can use the DOT3 but just don't depend on the fluid with your life. It did get my buddy all through Colorado just fine though. It's all we could find! |
