I am new to this forum, and I am buying a new bike. My old bike was a yz80; I also ride pretty good. I was thinking of getting a yz125 but I do not know if I am to big or too small. I weigh 160lbs, and I am 5'8. I also was thinking of maybe getting a 250, but I am not sure. What bike do think I should buy?

I think a 125 sounds just right. I'm 6' and 155 lbs. and a 125 seems to be a pretty good fit for me. Of course, welcome to the site too. We hope to see you around often.

Sweet, keep us posted. Have you tried one of the new 250 thumpers? That's personally what I would go with.

Well Im 6 ft 5 in or maybe 5 ft 6 inches, but its not about size its about skill level. The 125, any brand is a fireball. Good luck in your choice.Crap think about it, Bubba rides a 125.

I'm 5-10 and 220 with gear on. Even though I would consider myself way to big for a 125, I ride my YZ125 for practice anyway. It pull my weight just fine....and the fun factor is unmatched. I race my YZ250 because in the 40+ classes displacement is not an issue. I can hold my own on the tighter tracks but on the faster tracks I get smoked on the 125.

I'm 5'8" and 165. I couldn't be happier with my 250, but if you're coming off an 80, the 125 or 250 Thumper would be a good next step. Either way, you'll have fun.

125 would be a great fit if ya ask me. Heck, just go sit on one and you'll know you fit on it. I go to the track and see 200-230lb guys racing 125s and clearing everything easily.

I have changed my mind about getting a 125. I will most likely go with a 250 because I mostly ride trails and heard that 125s are not the best for trails.
