I have differen't reasons.

Four strokes are completely ruining the sport. In more ways than one.

Who ever rides a four stroke blatantly shows you care nothing about the sport.

They're ruining the sport by:
1. Closing riding areas due to noise. I can't count how many riding areas are being shut down due the excessively loud fourstrokes. Not to mention a local track around here.
2. How many amateur racers are quitting because they can no longer afford the sport, because four strokes are too expensive to maintain. They can't run two strokes due to an unfair displacement rule. Which is going to change in October.

1. I'd be willing to bet that when I have my "Q" series on you would never hear me over the two strokes. I agree that those that think they have to have the loudest and badest pipes out ruin things. Truth be known, we were losing land due to noise long before you were born. BTW, I have ridden both two strokes and 4 strokes.
2. Do you really think that a thousand bucks is causing people to quit? I see more now than last year riding and they are on 4 trokes having the time of their lives. Things change, some people just hate change...

I went from a 2-stroke to a 4-stroke and back to a 2 -stroke and later this year back to a 4-stroke. I embrace change!

A thousand bucks.... Not even close. You have no idea how much money it costs to race a 4 stroke competively( as in A/B class). You could easily go through a top end in a week, practicing every day. I'm not even going to get into pricing things.

I am waiting to start racing when they have a Yamaha Prius hybrid electric dirtbike.: j/k

To the original poster: You could read until your eyes bleed: all of the 2/ vs 4/ threads out there. Ride some different bikes, some 2/'s and some 4/'s, and then decide.

I say who cares as long as we are riding and having fun. People who quit riding dont normally quit for money, anybody who really loves it puts more money into it then they probably should anyway, i know i do
