this is from the shoutbox, i'm trying to preserve the info on there so i won't lose it all. my fork seal rebuild was cut short last night by a tired dad.

<FFRacing11x> ok tomorrow take the other fork turn it USD, and use the impact to loosen the alle...after that take the fork cap off and the cartridge will come out
<cphelan1> My pops only lives a couple hours from there. i'll bring him along from Arkansas
<Blitz125> i'm gonna cut-and-paste this to my "92 YZ125, wierd sounds" thread. thanks so much for your help, tryce.
<FFRacing11x> kool!!
<cphelan1> I am going to see you guys race hopefully at Tunica
<Blitz125> thats what my dad said.
<Blitz125> oops, just found out that we already LOCKED UP! "i'm not gonna spend all nite on it, jeez, there will be other races, plus you can go the sunday race."
<cphelan1> Yes I did. That bike is utterly amazing to me
<cphelan1> Tryce, while he's away, what would be your first item to correct poor braking on a KX250
<FFRacing11x> chris did you get the pics?
<FFRacing11x> I am on a mission now LOL
<Blitz125> no, i haven't. brb... gonna go do it.
<FFRacing11x> if we can get it apart to where you can see it, maybe you and your dad can make a tool to hold the other one
[28/02|19:40] <cphelan1> My head is spinning faster than ever now. Resume regularly scheduled program
<Blitz125> hi chris. yes, he is, lol
<cphelan1> Tryce, you are a godsend.
<FFRacing11x> yes
<FFRacing11x> did you already do the other one?
<Blitz125> with the oil still in it?
<FFRacing11x> turn the fork upside down so the cap is at the floor
<Blitz125> the other one is fine.
<Blitz125> ya know, it kinda sucks because the one that doesn't come undone is the one that needs a seal.
<FFRacing11x> the very first thing we are going to do is get that bottom allen out
<Blitz125> then drain it and try to get it apart?
<FFRacing11x> take it off the bike
<Blitz125> the other fork is still on the bike. tripleclamps are loose, but the fork is still on it.
<FFRacing11x> ok
<Blitz125> about 1/3 the way down. far enough that a 200-pound, 35-year-old man (my dad) can't push it much farther while his son (me) works the ratchet.
<FFRacing11x> do you have the other fork drained or apart?
<FFRacing11x> how much pressure or how far are you collapsing the fork
<Blitz125> should i try the other fork? the one i am doing now is the right-side-fork.

Default how to make a 92 YZ125 fast

Dude I raced a 92 YZ125 when they were new. magazines dogged the bike and everybody wanted a CR125 or RM125 that year.

On the dyno it made the same hp as the CR but in the real world it was very hard to ride fast unless you were a pro.

Mine had a pipe, silencer (pro circuit), i believe 2 teeth up in the rear sprocket (but we had tight tracks out here), 2 sets of stock reeds (1 set cut in half stacked on top of the new ones to prevent fluttering, I'm sure there are better aftermarket ones today), and most importantly a ported 90' top en, cylinder, and intake tract.

It was a BEAST after that.

The suspension was very good, but the rear shock linkage is kinda funky and tends to drag in deep whoops.

Properly setup, rebuilt suspension will work fine.

I had 92, 93, and 94 yz125 so old YZ questions come to me!

COOL! deathpunk, welcome to ATM, we'll *try* to help you on your bike(s) or quad(s) or anything else. as you can see in my sig, my YZ has a PC silencer and Boyesen reeds, but a rattly piston, so it needs a top end. Soooo, when THAT time rolls around, guess who's getting a PM!

i would have my dad help me, but he is leaving for the Mid-East somewhere (he can't tell us where,) today.

thanks bill, and did you send the MM393 stickies yet? sorry, but i cant wait to stick 'em on and get a pic posted. i put one of the blue ones on my gas tank, right where i can see it while riding.

i have a few spots saved on my # plates and front fender, but i'm ordering a new rear fender because the one on there now is trash... once i get the new one on, i'll put Garret's memory on with extra glue, lol

Talking In the mail early this week

Rob,
I put the yellow decals n the mail Tuesday. If the are not there by Monday please email or P.M. me.

Do not heat a caliper. The seals and close tolerances could get wrecked. Let Tryce see this or P.M. him for advice on this work. It will be worth the effort to hear what he has to say.

Bill
