89 yz250 ign prob

im new to the forums here and to mx bikes (dirt oval track racer) but i bought this bike used didnt run at the time. i tinkered wid it enought to get it running for awhile then it quit. it has little to no spark even after a new plug and stator assembly(paid big money for) also have another one just for parts that was threw in the deal too...if more info needed jus say so

Leg,

Standard things on a bike that old are things like grounds, especially the ones that the coil mounts on. A manual with the resistance specs would be very helpful, might keep you from buying things you don't need again. Then get a 20 dollar multi meter. Bad grounds on a coil will cleanup when you put on a new one, usually. Thus fooling you about the original problem.

well i finaly got another chance to work on it again. plug gettin spark but u gotta spin the motor pretty hard, then put back in the hole see if would fire an it wont not even when push startin. if i can get enuff kick into with the throtle open half or all way it'll mayb backfire threw the exhuast. thing drivin me crazy im bout ready to just trade it off for somethin different...
