Default 1999 yz 125 good or bad move ?????

ive just sold my 1992 cr250 im thinking of a 1999 yz 125 will there be a big difference in speed and handling where i ride i could only get into 4th gear on the cr as it is more hills and tight turns etc i ride with a friend and he has a yz 125 and doesnt seem to get left behind, the question is will i regret buy ing a 125 after riding the old cr250

I could be wrong (and often am), but I'd think if the newer YZ is in a better state of tune than perhaps the CR, then the YZ will have lower torque and bottom end, but if ridden correctly will be every bit as fast as the CR. Also, unless the suspension was in really great shape on the older CR, then the YZ will handle by far better, in fact it probably would regardless. Another point: the YZ is lighter, and would be an enjoyable ride unless you end up pushing it up some of those hills. If you're not a "heavyweight" it'd do you just fine... I think.

Smiffy...I had a 99 YZ125, loved it, bullet proof, fast handled well
I think you'll enjoy it but there will be a learning curve after riding a 250, got to work a little more on a 125.

i've got a '99 yz125 and i love it. you've got to ride them hard, but they love it. as jaswhitt812 said, you will have to work it more than you did your 250 but they are a blast to ride! if you have any questions about the bike let me know because i've done about everything there is to do to mine.
