Talking 1997 YZ125???

Hey my dad knows this guy who is selling a '97 YZ125 in good running condition with only a broken rear fender for only $450 I havn't seen pictures yet so i don't know what it looks like but if its ok should i go ahead and buy it. Is this a good year or what??? I'm gonna put at least $200 bucks in it to fix it up a little. If i don't like it i can always sell my 100 and this bike to get a newer on. What do yall think?

P.S. I get some pics up as soon as i get them

well if it runs and nothing is obviously beyond repairing it'd be a good deal. I'd consider getting it if it was here in my area.

Fix it up, and turn around and sell it for 1500.

Hey Man yeah i would definitely buy this bike. My buddy just bought the same bike for 500 bucks and the guy told me to rejet it. **** I'm 14 years old but I figured ok i've jetted 2 strokes before its not that bad. So we rejetted it and all and it still didn't run so i tore the cylinder apart and checked out the top end. Too bad it was losing compression cause it had a gouge in the cylinder wall. I sent the cylinder away to phathead racing in California and they big bored it to a 134 for me and sent me a pistion kit for 300 bucks. Thats a steal a 134 that runs like a bat out of hell for all of 800 bucks. But one problem I need the original settings I don't have a manual and want the suspension settings. Does anybody have these?

$450 dollars would be a steal here in SoCal. Even if you had to put a couple hundy into it I think it is still a good deal.

If it was local here and it runs, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Let us know how it goes.

That is a bargain if it only needs what you say it does!

Good Luck!
