Default 1987 yz125

Hello guys I've just bought myself a 1987 yz125 and I would like to know a couple of things about this bike:

1. What kind of oil goes in the tranny?
2.What is the ratio of the gas?

**I would like to know something **=Today when I took it out I tried to get it in gear and the clutch stays stuck abit, so I'm having a hard time getting it in gear.(do i need more oil in the tranny?)

If you guys know anything else plz tell me
THX!!!

Just use 2 stroke tranny oil I think probably 32/1-40/1 somewhere in that range would be fine. For the tranny it might just be going but I will let the smart guys answer that one.

I'm not a "smart guy", but the good trouble shooters are going to want a better description of how your clutch is acting. Does it act like you are dumping it in gear with no clutch? I would change out the tranny oil first and see if that doesn't help things first. If it's milky looking, ride it a short blast and change again to flush it out some...... Good luck!

Just use some quality 10-30 or 30 wt. motor oil. First I would change the oil and then you will need to either pull the oil/weep screw out to tell when your oil is full. Heck, that bike might even have a looking glass to tell when your oil is full. My advice to you is to get an owners manual and read up on your bike. It sounds like you dont have very much knowledge on 2 strokes. As for the right ratio of oil to gas, go with 32:1 of quality 2 cycle oil like Yamalube 2R. It is cheap and works very well.
