Default 05 YZ 250 pics of new mods

Well, I have changed a lot since the first time I posted here. It was cause I was so pissed at my brand new bike going through plugs every time I went riding, you guys replied saying it was jetting...too rich to be specific, and it pretty much was. I leaned out my jetting, got new pre mix, drained my stock tank, put in new freshly mixed gas with my new jetting and have not looked back since.

This bike is everything I could possibly want, well maybe some carbon fiber parts here and there, but as of now im glad I put the money into it I did. I have about 50 hours on it now of woods and track riding, and it just amazes me every time I go riding, never gets boring like my Raptor.

Anyway, I wrecked 2 weekends ago, went down in 4rth gear on a left hand sweeping corner in a field section of this woods track. Broke lever, smashed my stock headpipe and dented my frame. And now im here with these new parts, so enjoy and let me know what you think of it.

Dent in frame from where the stock pipe got flatned and pushed back into the frame

Still got to put this on...

Anyway here is the parts list, I have pics from the aftermath of the wreck too if somebody wants to see those I will put them in here too, just wanted to try and keep the amount of pics down.

05 YZ 250:
Pro Circuit Platinum 2
Pro Cicuit R-304 Shorty
Pro Taper Patranna FMX 1 1/8
Pro Taper Molded Pad-White
Renthal Dual Layer grips
Tusk Universal 1 1/8 Adapters
Sidewinder Titanium Rear Sprocket and Steel Front
Sidewinder Titanium Chain
Lowered Stock Footpegs
To Be put on:
Kenda Millville
Front Brake Lever(should be here Monday)

Sweet! Glad you got the jetting figured out. The 05 is a great bike. I love mine.

Looks great! I am sure with that Platinum 2 and shorty you are getting all sorts of good lowend for your woods riding.

From everything I have read, they are great bikes. Unfortunately, Yamaha is discontinuing the '05 line next year . . . .

Yea I still have to get around to doing that.

Thanks for all the great comments on it guys.

I did not get any pics of it right after the wreck cause I did not have my camera, but after I washed it the next day I took some pics.

The pics dont make it look to bad, but I need to take a picture of the pipe off the bike so you can see all the creases and dents in the pipe. It hit the ground pretty hard.

Nice pipe RaptorRacer888.

But...

Don't cry when that pretty shiny platinum pipe gets dinged. 'Cause you KNOW its going to happen.

I know, I was not even crying when I went down hard and the stock one got crushed. I was going to keep the stock one for a while, but after the wreck, it was pretty messed up so I got a new Pro Circuit one.

The bike looks nice, I'm suprised how much the Pro Circuit shorty is than the FMF Shorty. I'm curious, did you lose any up top? Next week I'll post a picture of mine when I get my new backrounds on it. We should have a little contest of who has the nicest looking 05 YZ250 lol.

Have not ridden it since I put on the headpipe, but the shorty did not affect it to much with the stock headpipe, but I ussauly short shift anyway and just try and keep it in the powerband, not rev the crap out of it.

O and Im up for a contest, cause cleary would I would be the winner.

Just messing around..

But did you know that a ding six inches or more away from the exhaust port has shown to increase horsepower ratings on the dyno?

i had the priviledge to race an 05 yz250 this weekend in culloden ga, i ride a 05 raptor 660 with a few mods. and he wanted to put money on it but i thought they were faster than it turned out.we were on a dirt drag strip and i bet it must have taken him at least 20 minutes to get all of that dirt out of his teeth because he never got close enough to stay out of the dust storm what do you think?

90% rider, 10% bike man.

Hell I could put my little sister on a R1, and me on a PW80 and I bet I could beat her.

Its all about the rider.
