Question '04 YZ85 oil check......

I bought my son a new 85 a couple of weeks ago and went to check the oil level......no check plug/screw... So I check the manual......"say what"....you have to drain the oil then measure the qty and add if needed then put the oil back in??? It's a preety Hokey set-up. So heres my question, has anyone found the correct oil level on the clutch cover then drilled and tapped it to accept a small screw for checking the oil level without going through all that crap:

I would imagine the easiest way to do the check plug would be to put the recommended amount after letting it drain completely and then pulling the clutch cover off so that you can see where the oil level was and then drilling a hole dead center on the oil mark. Just my thoughts on how to do it.

I've never heard of anyone one doing it because most people just change there oil ever other ride or so and fix any leaks they spot which means that they normally don't have to really check it because it's changed so often and shouldn't be leaking any.

Confirm the level once; Look into the "new design filler hole", if you can see the level, match it up next time.
