| HI! I just read your post and i saw u got the same bike as me! I was woundering if u could help me out some! My big problem is that my lil' bro decided to go swiming in a river w/ my 2003 YZ250 2 stroke and he completly submerged my bike in river water! the good news is that it was only in there for about 5 minutes! My question is...what do i need to do to get it all dry? i took off the muffler and the big black tube thing that connects to the engine! i took off the plastics and i took the air filter off along w/ the seat, i also took off the cover for the trans. oil and the cover for the trans and the oppisite side of the bike! I scheduled a app. at a shop but they are busy until July 25th! SO i guess i gotta do it myself! Sorry about this letter bein' so long! thanks for all the help again! Alex |

| for me all the covers come off. the top end comes off. every thing gets cleaned in solvent or diesel. all fluids dumped. all the electrical connectors get pulled apart and doused in wd40 or similar and put back together with dielectric grease. The carburetor is probably the last thing I cleanout, just because it doesn't get permanent water damage. the igntion can be disassembled pretty easy, but it can be cleaned in place with wd 40. Just don't be surprised if the grounds corrode unless it is taken apart, cleaned and dried. |
