Coolant was dripping from weep-hole...

Realize now that I have to remove the entire crankcase cover to remove the impeller wheel and seals - problem is the gasket for the crankcase had to be ordered and will take more than one week!!!

New track nearby i want to get on, water pump gasket looks okay minus grayish rubber layer - any chance to throw back on same gasket, put in coolant, and ride til the crank case gasket gets here???

It's your bike but I would not. What you are repairing might cost $60 if you replace all consumables. Replacing a cooked motor will be 15+X that. It's your choice.

I would wait to fix the bike properly, but hey - it's your's. Do what you want.

If you are carefull, you can pop the "crankcase" cover without damaging the gasket and re-use it. You can also re-use the waterpump gasket if the cover is removed carefully. Even a small amount of sealer could be used where necessary on a torn gasket.

But I would not run with a known bad water pump seal.

Default Thanks Scott!

The water pump gasket is okay, I also have a new one with the grayish coat seal - the old one is clean but that gray seal has burnt away - can you think of something i can put on the gasket, assuming i can also get the crankcase cover gasket off without damage, that will help seal for the short time being or should i just get them as clean as possible?

4th of July camp/bbq/dirtbike ride all in jepoardy!!!

Thanks for your good advice.
