Default power valve help!

2001 cr250 just installed new bottom and top end, runs great except no bottom and mid range power. Rips up top. Removed cover on left side, it stays horizontal and doesn't move when I blip the throttle. What did I do wrong during assembly? I know I aligned the fork with one another. Help. Thanks

you want it to be vertical until you crack the throttle, when it goes horizontal.

take a look at this, should help you find your issue

Cleaned and assembled. Now its stays vertical and won't move. I can't enemy get the bottom shaft to turn at all. Is it possible to have the governor in a bind after right side case assembly? I thought it went together very well

i have a 98cr250r
my guess is that when you put the cylinder on the cases you smashed the governor rod and the powervalve rod together instead of getting the little pin to fit in the slot.

did the cylinder sit flush to the crankcase or did you have to tighten it down with a wrench for that last 1/4 inch?

just loosen your cylinder nuts and line that bad boy up. dont forget to drain the coolant first. hopefully it didnt get bent too much and will still work.

Took jug back off, shouldnt I be able to turn the lower rod counterclockwise as though the governor is operating? It will not move. I had the fork lined up properly but still no movement

I just rebuilt mine recently and yes I could rotate the lower shaft, connected to the govenor. It will take one of the guru's to tell you why it might not rotate though.

ot sure if this will help but had a laster model C250 and I messed up the power value putting it back together wrong and bent the connecting rob on the bottom of the cylinder. The values would not work until replaced the rod.
