Default PJ frame paint any good?

I saw some PJ oem color frame paints online, are they any good? IS it a hard coating or will it need clear coated to ensure it wont chip off? Anybody used it before, trying to see if I should powdercoat or use this stuff, thanks for the replies..Brian

I see you live in PA and i'm not sure where but if you've ever heard of St. Marys, Pennsylvania there is a company there called Absolute Powder Coating and they powder coat ANYTHING that can be powder coated (any metal) and they're cheap. I've always stripped my bikes and had the frames always powder coated, they charge $100 to do a frame and you can pick from a TON of differant colors and that stuff is virtually chip proof/and wont rust just a thought tho i know it's a little off your topic so sorry if it's not help to you, but if you are interested they're website is

Absolute Powder Coating, LLC. - Contact

Powder coat if you can.

Clear coat doesn't prevent chipping. In fact, it makes it worse. Clearcoat is brittle.

If you're going to paint it, use a single stage urethane automotive paint with the catalyst. It's the second best thing to powder coat.

I just painted mine using that PJ1 stuff and it looks awesome. But I haven't rode it yet.
