Default JR50 blowing excessive smoke

I have an 03 JR50 with maybe 10 hours on it. It seems to be running fine but has just started to blow a lot of smoke. The only condition that has changed is the recent hot temperatures and high humidity here.
Any ideas on what to check??

Thanks,

that really doesnt have a settable oiler if i recall,,it is nothing more than a metered drip. with the easy flow of hot weather you may be smoking for that reason. it is pretty new to be a float,,and the small ones on those usually stay set for quite a while. There me be some crud on the float needle,,i think i would start there. you may even try blocking the oil line and run it on some known premix to see if the problem is the oiler.

good luck

Yep, in the warmer weather the oil flows easier and it will smoke more. Nothing to worry about. There is a mod to bypass the oiler and run premix. That's what I did on the PW50. Ran WAY better too.

Thanks guys. Iíll have a look for an oil flow adjust.
It has been especially hot and humid here 40+C with the humidex. That must be it.

i live in TN- our temps are over 90F, with humidity it is like over 100- my sons has not been smoking that much- i mean it smokes, but not excessively- you might want to take the pipe off of the cylinder and look for build up right there- on my sons i got a flat head screwdriver and knocked off some of that carbon build up- they get a lot of carbon build up b/c they are not really ever opened up- i alson cleaned the silencer a while back- the was oil and carbon everywhere- just a thought- u wouldn't happen to know where i could get some colored wheels for my sons JR50 would you???

Iíll check that as well thanks.
Last week when this started it was 44C with the humidexÖ thatís about 110F I think.

I have seen 10 inch rims on ebay. I was thinking about it myself but the youngest will be out of the bike buy the end of this year and on his brothers CRF70. The JR will be sold to finance the CRF80 for the older one.

Souphmars, on other thingÖ After I had the JR for a few hours I went in to remove the restrictor plate from the exhaust port. Funny thing was it did not have one I could find? The manual said it does but I could not locate anythingÖ
Hope I just could not located it and itís still in their mucking things up! Hmmmmm?
