Default 2005 crf 250 with KX 500 Motor Aluminum Frame Conversion

crf 250 with KX 500 Motor Aluminum Frame Conversions Elsinore Factory
Ok with help from Elsinore Factory Russ Staten who did the crf 250 with KX 500 Motor Aluminum Frame Conversion work and John Aden #777 did all my welding we have mounted a kx 500 motor in a 2005 crf 250 frame it is a cool ride big bore 2 stroke power with a bike that handles well. A match made for me. I used the kx air boot, motor, everything else is honda. I added a 450 rear wheel, a flywheel weight, revalved the front and rear myself thanks to Tom & Dan White (White Brothers) I was trained in 1991 so it is nice to adjust to my style. Now a rad valve and I have a dream bike. The next one will have a 550 kit all the above and maybe I will add a little to the swing arm 2" longer, a 22mm offset on front end hummmmm.
A one point I put a rmz 450 front end so I could use my 20" tires & wheel oversize brake and scotts sabilizer all worked but I didn't need this set up the Honda brakes are good I ended up with stock set up and will mount the scotts on the lower triple clamp.
I have pictures I need to learn to upload to web site to share

Hi,
Here is the pictures on my build, the first one with the stock wheels, the one with red rear has a 450 wheel and a rmz 450 front end. I used the scotts stablizer and oversize front brake with my 20" front wheel. I found that they both works well but I am using the honda as first choice and handles very well. This is a great set up Notice the frame rails have no pieces like service honda, the pipe I did I took a stock head pipe cut and fitted to a cr500 pipe it works well easy power great bottom end with good traction the fly wheel weight helps.
Elsinore Factory Russ Staten did the alm work and helped set up the motor area and air box. If you post these with tags please mention his name. if you have questions call me.

Thank You,
Jon A Varley

There you go Jon,I will post more pics soon as I get a chance,Thanks Ron

Thanks Ron for posting pictures,
From the idea to completed not counting the changes after I was done, Russ did frame couple of days, welding 1 day, the rest about 10 days off and on. I am making little changes but I feel the kx vs cr has better power easier to get on the ground. The rad valve next I'm ready for the two stroke world championship at Glen Helen!! I am 60 years old this will be fun.
My oldest son and I built a Triumph chopper for younger son's wedding last year it's on youtube custom triumph nice build also.
