Default 2 new rebuilds!

Guy's,

I've got 2 rough bike that I'm in the process of rebuilding right now!

#1 is a 82' Maico 490, it' was a bent up oily mess!

I don't have any pic's of the staring of the project, as my cell phone died & they where unable to recover my earlier pictures.

I might have them stored somewhere else, But I 'll have to look.

#2 is a very mistreated 79" Husqvarna 250, I think it's Xc? the engine S/N tag is gone.

I tried to load Pictures, but it looks like the photo gallery is corrupted a little bit.

I had to used a different sites photo gallery.

This thing is a real mess, I'll have to take more pic's of the Ignition & the cobbled wire's.

This will be a total rebuild, it's going to be a long term project!

Chase,

You know that old saying that beauty is only skin deep , but ugly go to the bone?

Well that's this Husky!

Someone sandblasted the black coating off the forks, Engine & wheels.

The Motoplat was corroded & the wires are full of crimp on connectors!

The coil wire has a car spark wire grafted in & the 3 wires coming out of the back of the Motoplat are cut really short with solder less crimp connectors

I had to build an improvised ground wire, the corrosion on the cylinder & trans is bad ennough that I can't get a good ground.

I spent 2.5 hours cleaning up the Motoplat Ignition to get spark, Now to check the carb & see if I can get it to run for a few seconds!

I still won't know if the Motoplat has any heat issues, it's at least 30years old & may be as old as 40.

Kick starter is wrong & hitting the frame & the clutch cover digging into it.

That's just for starters!

She may be an ugly duckling now, but I know she's in good hands! I've seen your Maicos, I know what you're capable of
