![]() I hope so! This has taken quite a while... I was expecting to put in new valves and a piston and be done with it. |

![]() Just wanted to follow up for anyone coming across this: I was unable to find the cause of the bike not running. Compression was good, timing was confirmed (5-6 times), leak down test was good (7ish% loss). The bike continued having an intermittent and weak spark. As much as wetting the spark plug with starter fluid was enough to get it to stop arcing. Every test that the service manual asked to be done was done and passed, which pointed to the ECM, but the owner did not want to spend the money on it. So, it was given back to him a few weeks ago. I tried to track down an ecm to swap to confirm, but was unable to find one. |

![]() Bummer, but at least it's out of your hair now. |

![]() Definitely. I tried explaining to the guy (a friend of a friend) that it's kinda hard to fix bikes without spending money. Everything pointed to the ECM, but he saw the prices and didn't want to commit to buying one. So, now he has a nice bike with a new set of valves and a new top end but that doesn't run. |

![]() I get the need to be frugal, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to invest that much in the bike and then balk at buying an ECU to get it running, because as it is now he has a really expensive paperweight... |

![]() Myself and the mutual friend tried telling him that to no avail. Apparently he's in a tight spot.... hopefully he'll sell it so I can fix it and flip it ![]() |
