Default 2007 Rmz250 Problem

I just bought a 2007 rmz250 slightly used. It runs mint except when it gets really hot i start to hear a clicking sound when i am hard on the throttle. Ive been told that it is possibly the valves. And that they probably need adjusting. If anyone has an idea as to what it my be and how much the fix would cost me it would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I dont know much about 4-stroke bikes, but it could be a combination of your oil and oil pump. It may not have enough pressure to feed the head and is causing the clicking noise.

Could it be preignition (pinging)? What fuel are you running and how is the jetting set up? Lean will ping as will low octane fuel. It would be most noticeable under hard acceleration.

I also have a 07 rmz250 have been reading thumper talk about the 07 clutch problems. Check your fibers to make sure they are not broke. If they are read what some of the forums have to say at TT . Would take me to much time to explain the fix. I wouldnt think it would be your valves because i dont think it would start if you valves were that far off.

$10 bucks it's the clutch, they were the worst clutch in a bike that year. The outer plates actually shatter, you need to drill more holes in the boss to let more oil in around the plates.

10-4 already ordered a hinson and put in 08 plates and fibers with wave washers. Also 08 shift spring for that neutral problem..Wish i had read about the problems with the 07 clutches before i had to replace two.

I had my 07 rmz250 out yesterday for a ride after my rebuild and one off my clutch plates let go, mine made a ticking noise when it was idling, I did not notice it when I was riding tho. This also happened to my bike before in the early fall. I replaced one of the plates and thought noting about it happening again. I ordered a clutch kit and will be installing it tomorrow.
Take your clutch cover off and pull the pressure plate and check it out.

My 2007 Rmz 250 is in the shop because the clutch plate blew and spread through the tranny leaving it stuck in 5th gear. 1500 dollar fix
