Default 1986 DR200 Needs some help here.

Well I dont know about the DR200s and I picked one up for 150 bucks. Its a 86 DR200 and the float was stuck I got it free and it starts up first kick but as soon as i give it throttle it dies????

Other then that I took of the flywheel cover and oil came out every where??? I noticed the gasket around it was leaking so I took it off.

I never knew oil went all around the flywheel on this bike??? Is that normal?

Any info on this bike would be great.

P.S It also has a thumb type lever that has a cable hooked up to the valves/cover not sure?

If the float was stuck, then the carb probably has other issues such as clogged or partly clogged jets. That could explain why it dies when you open the throttle.

Not sure about your exact model, but lots of bike have 'wet' flywheels and stators.

That would explain all the oil. I'll work with the carb a bit. Any idea what that thumb lever is next to the throttle that leads down to the valve cover?

If you can clean the carb up you will probably be good to go. The DR has a "wet" stator, oil in it is normal.

The lever with the cable to the valve cover is the compression release.
