Thanks. I was worried that if I didn't know what it meant, maybe I shouldn't be racing.

Maybe the skill bar designates what class you're in. For example, novice, amatuer, intermediate? I know way back when (almost 20 years ago), when I ran a few D38 races, they had different colored bars for when you transferred or got bumped to the next class. Just a thought and there's no doubt things have changed plenty since then.

Dist 38 (San Diego area) is basically the same as District 37. There are 4 skill levels, Beginner, Novice, Amateur, and Expert. ![]() Go here and read every thing you can click on and it will give you all the info you need. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Also their message board will help out a lot. Welcome to ATM and racing. Take a lot of pictures and save them because someday you can brag to your grandkids.

Thanks a lot for the help MainJet. I've read through most of their website and feel like I have a fairly good understanding of the process. If you look at the bottom left of this page - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - you'll see what I am talking about. That's pretty much what's got me stumped. Thanks for reminding me to take pictures, that's definitley something I would like to do.

that is somewhat confusing...I would post up a thread asking about that. Most of the time those guys will get back to you pretty quickly...if not get a hold of your steward and he can guide you. -Kevin-

I believe that what it means is do you need the colored bar (skill) that goes on the bottom of your numbers. Many returning racers will just put the new earned numbers on their old number plate saving the district a skill bar if they don't change class. In the case of a new racer, you should say yes or Y. Hope this helps.
