Default My first win

After a year in the novice class I finally scored a 1st in class at the Badgers Sunday race this last weekend. Just for an added bonus I also got the 2 day OA trophy as I got 2nd on Saturday.

Got a good start on Sat course B 12pm and ran 5th OA out of 26 on my line and 1st in class until lap 3. My hands were giving up on me and I pulled a dumba$$ move, letting a 4-stroke go by thinking he was a HWT. About halfway through the last lap a spectator yelled "2nd" and then I realized what I did....boy the words that came out of my mouth! I tried hunting him down but he got me by 20 or so seconds...Got 8th OA(I think) and 2nd in class.

Got a ripping start on Sunday course A, Tracy said 3rd to the bomb...holy crap that was a fast course. A few gotchas but other then that it was ribboned and staked well. Thought since we started late we would only be doing 2 laps but ended up doing 3 (45miles). Once again my hands started to give and started making some mistakes. I supplied the check workers with some "entertainment" with my turning (or lack of) abilities on those tight turns. I'm still pulling creosote bushes out of my bike. Forgot about the "drop off jump" while chasing some dust....that was a rough landing. Held on to 1st in class (a first as a Nov) and 7 or so OA. Met quite a few new people at the finish and had some good laughs with the regulars. This coming weekend I'm doing my first Enduro/qualifier...this ought to be fun!

If you have the cash just do it.The butterflies and all that will go away once the race in underway. You'll be hooked and have no money anymore.but that's all worth it.

And congrats on the win KKXR400R.

It's kinda funny you say that...When I got into the finish chute it was very surreal knowing I won. I have been trying to get this win for a while:hell I quit smoking, cut back the alcohol and even started dieting. I got that little giddy feeling and ask Tracy...."Is this how you feel every time you race"? Although I have only one win I can see how winning is addictive.

Here ya go buddy...I think the title threw a few people off.

Its a lemon!

the coolest part is that Tracy and I will have both our names on the badgers t-shirts next year!

Also, Jack Moore went out broken thumb and all and got 2nd in class....your an animal!

Congrats Kev! You're getting faster and I guess that's what we all want to accomplish. You gonna get bumped up for next season?

Well done Kevie, see what happens when you give up the ciggies so pretty soon you'll be no longer a swapper but a B grader

I should be on the Ammie (INT) line within the next 2 months. It's funny, I vowed to get my yellow bar before Tracy gets her red (exp) bar. I'll never hear the end of it of I don't. ..we'll see how that turns out after RUTS.
Also, Tracy is racing vet250 after her birthday this year...That's going to be interesting having to battle with my wife.

Thanks Pete and Char! I'm having a great time out there. The first thing I said to Tracy was "THAT was tough"..She replied" No one said it was going to be easy....if it was, everyone would be doing it". I am my biggest critic and one of the things I need to start doing is have more confidence in my riding abilities. This will lead to better results...more advice from the wife. One of the things that surprised me was when she told me I had a 4 minute lead on 2nd place on the first lap. When I said it was a fast course I meant it....I was hitting over 70 mph in a sand wash only to have a 650 pass me...I was stunned but motivated at the same time and went faster then I have ever ridden. Good times. Can't wait for the

Thanks LeRoy. Tracy had her suspension reworked and all of a sudden she turned into Destry! She's riding really well lately. Iwon't deny that....but no....she isn't faster...... We'll see ya at 100's or sooner.
