| Mr. Berg did something new this year. I don't know how many tears were shed during the reading but some of them were mine. He is a big man to say the least. "A Letter to My Son". |

| Oh man, I'm not sure I can watch this right now. I'd be surprised if there were any dry eyes during the reading of "the letter". |

| It tends to rain a lot during that letter. I still dont know how he read it to everyone, I'm very glad he did. I actually thought about his words today while watching Ellie play her volleyball game. |

| The words spoke by the Berg family changed a lot in my life and my relationship with my kids. We are all only here for a short time to make the best of very day regardless of the curve balls that might come at you. Thank you Berg family you are in my family's daily prayers. | I had read Mike's letter to Garrett when he first posted it on Thumpertalk, however, hearing it from Mike himself... Just gives a person another deep look into the heart of Mike. Mike says that Garrett was a giving young man and He's right. I think I know who Garrett learned that from. Shannon, I missed seeing you at this years GMB. Every year when I see you I tell you that I'm still praying for you. I still am. |

| Saturday night I went to see my Mom for the first time home from GMB. She wanted to know all about my trip. I told her all about it and showed her all the pictures in the threads and the videos. After showing her everything I found it fitting to play this one for her. Mom cried from start to finish, and I did as well. At the end, she said thank you for showing me that... I have learned more in that 10 minutes then almost most my life. She hasn't really ever been a part of the mx world but she did say... I would love to be a part of GMB next year! |

| Awesome! Another heart touched by a tragedy that can't be changed. I know we would all change it if we could but it's nice to see something positive come from it. I am sure Mr. Berg feels the same way. |

Kim, This is absolutely awesome! Thank you for sharing this with us. It takes courage to open up. I suspect that this will produce good things for you and your mom. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you this year and I look forward to perhaps meeting you one day in the future. All the Best........ |

| What I wouldn't give to come to GMB at least once. For some reason, the videos wouldn't work for me until the YouTube post came up. It's amazing how you have never met a person and yet they can mean to much to you by just reading and hearing about the thing impacts he made on people's hearts. I remember first coming onto this forum and just assuming it to be another motocross chat- until Char pointed out the real meaning behind it. Reading all the experiences and memories people in our little ATM family have shared with Garrett and his family make this forum so much more worthwhile. I feel a lot closer to all of you knowing we all share a deep sympathy and suffer a great loss from such an amazing young man. I have never met Garrett, but I have read anything and everything that has included his life story from the many postings of fellow ATM members- and even now, I find myself thinking "Garrett would have loved this" or "How would Garrett do it?" Mr. Berg, you were bold in making your feelings vulnerable by reading this letter, and I admire your courage. "The Letter" could and would help the lives of many other fallen rider's family's adapt to the situation at hand. It's such a great sport, and Garrett represented it well and made us all very proud. The legacy he has left behind is far greater than that we could ever imagine. "In Memory Of #393." |
