It is definitely a great four stroke. I rode Ima's RMZ250 and it was a great machine. If you add a pipe, I'm sure it will increase the power as it usually does.

Also, welcome to the boards. Hope you stick around and post often.

Yep, Ima really likes her RMZ so far, and most people that ride it give it a good review.

Granted, much is due to the rider, but every one that I have seen is absolutely tearing up the field. On two separate occasions, I have witnessed a KXF trounce the OPEN expert class--There are a few things that I am sure will be improved next year, but what a great first year bike!

the kxF 250 is a fast bike. on the moment the World Championschip MX 2 (125) is leaded by a KXF 250 F

only the KXF and the RMZ are not reliable. because last weekend there were 4 RMZ 250 that blown up ! and 1 KXF was blown up

I have heard some great things about the KX-F being a fun bike to ride. I was on Thumper Talk browsing the KX-F section and read a few posts about a few peoples pistons cracking and breaking. I don't know if this is happening frequently or if I just happened to read a few flukey posts. I have also heard that the KX-F can have some overheating issues. A company has made these really trick looking carbon fiber pieces that go on the radiators than help funnel the air into your rads which pretty much took care of the problem. Every new bike has it quirks not matter which brand. If you are thinking about getting one check out the KX-F Thumper Talk forum section, that way you can talk to the guys that are actually riding them.

It's hard to look at the SX or MX results and go by the factory bikes. Those bikes aren't "factory".

The YZ has been out for 4 years now I believe and it's been a consistant competitor without any heating problems, ill-engineered parts like the KXs oil filter and water pump cover. And they don't seem to grenade quite as often as the RMZ/KXFs seem to.

I agree with that assesment 100%. You don't like to hear things like, they fixed the heating problem or the transmission bugs have been worked out. Let the R&D do all that, not you.

AND for '05, they have supposedly resolved the "tranny" and oil filter/water pump cover for you.

Now the valves... that's another story. Hopefully they'll fix those as well.

every new bike has it problems get the bugs worked out and then you have a good bike but usually when they get them perfect or damn near they change them and screw it up.

The YZ's are def. the most reliable. And they've been out for 6-7 years (since 2001) so they have had the most time in the R&D.
