Default klr 650

I have 2000 Kawasaki klr 650 and I push the start button and I can only hear a faint little click. Each time I push the starter button. Would it be the starter or a bad battery.

It could be either. Have the battery load tested to be sure. It could just be bad connections on the battery cables.

I did a load test on the battery and it came up that the battery only had 9 volts. So is that not enough to turn the motor.

Battery is bad for sure. Voltage too low under load.

Anything under 10v is probably not going to get the job done.
