I found a 2006 kx250f for $3000 on amadistrict6.com (thanks to billyboy for telling me about the website.....THANK YOU JHENDRIX FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THE BIKE ITSELF )

I called the guy and he really knows his stuff. He explained how he did the top end, adjusted the valves ect. His son has been riding for 11 years so i'm sure he has ton of experience. I'm really excited!

dang sounds like a good deal man. I wish I would have wanted a 4 stroke when I traded in my raptor. I could have made 3200 from it.

Hey I took a look at the bike and it looks pretty clean, sounds like a pretty good deal for 3000 on a well taken care of 06. I would buy it if I had the coin.

Ossa told me to stay away from yellow and green bikes. I dont doubt him in the least, i am just wondering if any one else has had reliablility issues with the kawasakis 250fs?

the only problems ive heard of on the new (aluminum framed) kawis are cracked pistons right down the middle. ive also heard that you shouldnt use synthetic oil in them because the oil temp gets too high because of clutch slippage.

btw cracked piston is avoidable if you warm the bike up, and make sure the piston doesnt get sloppy in the bore. I think ossa was referring to the steel framed kawa-zuki when he was talking about reliability problems.
