what quad for young teenager?

Weight dif are negligable in my opinion... looking at the weight of the raptor 250 its claimed at 313lb, my yfz450 is a claimed 350lb.... thats a big jump in size of atv, performance etc and not much in weight. the little quads still weigh a lot

Its also my opinion the only time youll really notice it is if you trying picking them up and moving them around...while riding them geometry makes more difference than weight, I don't think she'll know nor care wether shes got 300 or 320lb underneath her.

And I really have no opinion on the balloon tires...you dont like em...buy the good stuff, easy fix I got some you could have but they don't fit honda bolt patterns.

Yami really needs to make a yfz250.... that would def suit your needs and address your concerns

you can put the race tires on any quad, but I know that the honda 300ex comes with the big baloon tires on it, the raptor 350 comes with the ones you are talking about.

i recommend going to a dealer and having her sit on them

let her sit on them check for shifting brake etc soo what she can reach stand up everything she would do in riding whichever she or you feels she is comfortable on go with tht finding aftermarket parts isnt really going to be hard for any of them first purchase i would recommend before changing tires and whatnot would be nerfs well worth it

She has already sat on all of them I think.

Its a matter of power and stability that are our concerns at this point.

They both fit her fine.


I thought the weight is an issue when it comes to her ability to counter weight the machine and the flip factor.


I do like the wider tires, seems like it has a lower center of gravity or something

i wouldnt really worry about flipping
the wider the quad the less likely to flip
even though my raptor weighs alot more than my blaster the blaster is more likely to flip because of the smaller a arms and axle(idk if tht answers your question)
i have balloon tires on my blaster and the difference i notice is they dont hook up as well and deffinately hold the machines power back in the turns its not as nice either deff ditching them soon

YESS! Go Yamaha, finally you made the right decision. I'm just kiddin with ya, the kawi's are all great bikes to.

I would go for either the orange and black, or the dark blue and white. The first time I saw the orange and black YFZ's I almost pooped my pants thinking it was the ktm 450 haha.

I know you're a parent so it's hard to say this but I honestly wouldn't worry about her rolling it. A little body english in the turns and she'll be fine no matter how much it weighs (I'm assuming you aren't buying a 500lb quad, that would make a dif )
