looky here too soon to upgrade..

hi all, got my daughter on a bike about three to four months ago, she went that well the next week i bought her a brand new 08 pee wee 50. now heres the dilema, she has advanced that quickly that i think its already time for an upgrade, the problem is she likes to jump and the pee wee aint to good in the shock department, should i get her on a ktm50 now or wait till she destroys the pee wee.. just not sure if she s ready for that extra zip... she just turned six by the way but as you can see she is tiny...

Have you sat her on a KTM yet? I'm just curious how well that bike fits her?

As the parent, it's really your call. Does she respect the power (or lack thereof) of the pw in a way that'll transfer over to the KTM? Or is she the type of kid that's gonna get on the thing and just pin it?

Were it me in your shoes, I think I'd find someone with a ktm that would let her take it for a test spin. How she does during that would probably help you with the decision.

AND...those pics are just way too cool!!!

When my kids where young, I always let the kids decide when it was time to move to the next level. My oldest (now 18) progress fast and always wanted more. He went from an XR70-RM80-RM125 My second son (14) progressed slower with more steps in the process. XR50-XR70-XR100-RM80

Ask her if she is ready for more power. She will let you know.

Great pic by the way.

In America, we have a big problem with used tires. I'm glad to see that you guys have your priorities straight.

I vote KTM all the way. That girl is insane!

Personally Id hold off. The KTM 50s have a ton more power than the PW. It takes less of a mistake to lose control on the KTM vs the PW. I found my boys able to recover from mistakes they mad on the PW whereas the KTM was less forgiving and would bite them in the butt with much lesser errors. Its only been a few months, way too little time for her to have developed rider "savvy" and bike control, which is what makes the PW a great bike. Having said that she has a good teacher. She has nice form in the corners and in the air.
