| I am wondering how is it possible brand new forks from BBR. What would cause them to leak after a couple hours of riding? This standard setting oil and springs are rated for 150lbs. It came with 10wt oil 4.0oz per leg. The paper work says an 80lb beginner rider can use 5-10wt oil, 3.8oz per leg. My son weighs 45 at the most! I cant think of any reason why its oozing oil down all over the forks. His riding is about 70% of the aggression he rode with before. How much oil is supposed to come out of these anyway? Nothing I should see right??? Its a heavy drippy film, not a thin coating. I will be calling BBR in the morning, but I wanted to get any other opinions. I know nothing about fork oil. Just what the paper work says. |

| Sounds like a little bit of dirt got in there. It's not really all that uncommon. I'm not sure if it'll work on those forks, but you can take an old film negative, pull the dust boot (or whatever it's called) down and work that negative up in there. You kind of pull it around and down and then slide it out and see if there's any crud on there. Sometimes that just fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't. I've got the same problem on Effie right now. The negative trick worked the first time, but they're leaking again so I'm going to replace the seals. Something to consider though, is that you might push whatever crud is around up in there and I would guess that's not a good thing. |

| They do have covers but not sure where to get them for the BBR stuff. You might want to call them and ask if they have Seal Savers that fit. Be careful with these. They keep the dirt out for the most part, but they also keep moisture in and the steel clips that hold the seal in can rust. |

| Oh, I was hoping for something similar to what is on my bike... kind of like a plastic shield that is mounted in front of the fork. (if I remember correctly) What you describe sounds like something mounted onto the fork or near the fork seal. I hope that isn't my only option, since you said it can rust. I will be looking into this more. These forks are really exposed, I hope there is something I can do. Thanks keeto |

You know if thats my only option, you never know I might just do that! There isn't anything on the BBR site. Still waiting on them to open so I can call. While searching for fork covers... I did find the forks I purchased on sale at BBR for $75 less ... AND then $125 cheaper at some other site!! |

You know that doesn't sound like such a bad idea, I mean sounds like it could work. Better than what is there now. |
