whoo up there mx mama, its easy to get carried away with a childs progress in mx races. they will go through these amazing levels of improvement for a long long time, and they will also have periods where they don't! i have seen plenty of good 50 cc riders who did not step up to 65cc level and the pressure on them to perform is unbeleivable. first and foremost let them do it for the enjoyment, and not the status of being the best! if your boy is good enough at the age of 17 and he is commited to his goal, he will more than likley make it. if not than there has to be a plan b to fall back on. i have a son who just turned 17 last week and he is trying to turn pro, but if he does not get any factory support in the next 2 years then he will have to go to plan b and start working fulltime.
