Usflag Greetings

Greetings everyone,

I just wanted to drop a quick message and introduce myself to the forum. My name is Chris and as of yesterday, I'm a "Mini Parent." My son Cullan is 6yo and has been after me for about a 6 months to get him a bike. He got turned on to it when I worked (EMS) a Trail riders event here in Florida. He is very excited, and unfortunately, I'm pretty darn clueless. I haven't been on a quad or a bike in, oh, about 18 years. My how have things changed. Anyway, I guess I'll be popping in every so often to lean on you all for some advice and such. With that said, any advice for the aspiring dad and kid?

Slainte,
Chris

Welcome to the world of Motorcycles.

Warning, it's very addicting.

Advise -- don't try and win every race, and make sure to have fun. Winning isn't what makes it fun, spending time with your boy is what it's all about. If he's got talent and the aptitude, it'll happen, if not, you'll make AWESOME memories in the process.

And finally, welcome to

Thanks for all the welcomes!

I can see how it is addicting already and pricey. I'm considering getting a bike myself and even my wife is thinking about getting one.

Woody, I'm already in agreement with ya. I just want him to have fun and enjoy it. Along has he is as safe as he can be on it, I don't care if he comes in last in every race, if he chooses to race. Heck, he loves soccer, but is really bad at it. I cheer him on as if he is David Beckham. If he is having fun, that is all I care about.

Thanks again for all the welcomes and have a safe ride.

Slainte,
Chris

That's the spirit! That will ensure, many many years of GREAT memories.

Oh, and once you get a bike, it will be even more fun. Nothing like doing some riding, coming back to the pits, removing your helmet and seeing two SFG's (poop faced grins) with dirt all over them
