BBR makes the SP-5 is for the CRF50 or XR50. Along with that we ordered the handle bar kit for en extra $50. It came with all the cables and grips. I asked when we ordered this if it came with complete installation instructions and the sales lady on the phone assured me it did. It came with instructions for the handle bars. NOT the forks. I took some pictures, but we kept having to un-do/re-do so many times I stopped taking them. I think the biggest problem was getting the new bearings to seat. That seemed to be what held my husband up the most. ALSO… when we ordered the handle bar kit, we were assuming it was going to be kid sized. The handle bar kit for this are for an adult. It didn’t say that anywhere on line or in the catalog. If you are considering this for your child’s bike, don’t waist your money on the handle bar kit. We had to cut the throttle barrel and the bars to make them a reasonable size. They are still 2” longer on each side than the stock ones and are very high. Also had to re-use old grips. We also had to slide the forks up a few inches just so our son can reach the ground. The kick stand will have to be extended too. He already had and aftermarket rear shock that added an inch or so in height, so with the new forks it is really high. I would guess 3 – 3 1/2 inches higher. It looks to be worth the purchase over all. Seeing how well the bike maneuvers and handles bumps now is well worth it. Its a SMOOTH ride!! I even took it for a few laps. BBR has installation videos on line. I never got them to work, but it could just be my software. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Sounds like you got a "pit bike" kit. Pit-bike races are becoming more and more popular. There are tons of options these days for making the minis "adult friendly".

Yup, there weren't any other options we felt that would be beneficial enough. We expected the forks to be a little bigger, just not Ga-giant! I didn't realize everything is so "mini". Even the grips are so much smaller. So I guess they sell mini grips? Cause I need to get some. I wonder if him having the handle bars too high is a bad thing. Anyone know of any harm it could do? I am not sure how much higher it is, but it looks kind of odd. (I think "chopper" when my son rides it. LOL) If necessary I could go measure the difference in height compared to the stock bars.

Well, we found some handlebars that fit at the height that the stock ones were. So It was ready to go Friday afternoon for our weekend trip. His bike did really well on the trails and the track. It was really good to see the suspension in action instead of him being jerked around. Even though the suspension cost as much as 1/2 the bike did, for the riding he wants to do, it is perfect for the job. I will post some pictures shortly.
