I'm still just looking at yz85's, but if my son doesn't save the $, he won't be getting one. For now that seems to be the case.

My next son however, is saving and working hard to get a kx65, which I'm sure he'll get shortly.

Don't you already have a thread asking this exact question? Please don't post your question on my thread. I know it's tough, but keep to the topic and have some patience, someone will answer your other thread.

really there isnt gonna be a huge power difference from one bike to the other, i have ridden the cr and yz 85s and i prefer the yammy. its more comfortable riding position amd very snappy power band. if your kid is large enough, i would over all recommend the ktm 85 becuase it is bigger and flat out hauls, ktm 85s always finish high in the ranks at all the races around here because they ride a bit more like a big bike and are so dam fast

i just picked up a 98 yz80 a couple months back for myself for only $650(on craigslist). if you are low on cash. i would recommend getting an 80cc instead of an 85cc simply because the 80cc's are older making them cheaper(not all the time, but most of the time). but in my opinion there is no difference in speed. i race my friend on his kx85 and kill him every time . if i were you i would go with a yz80 preferably a 98 because they look so damn sick if you step back and take a look at it and they are extremely quick.
