I'm still just looking at yz85's, but if my son doesn't save the $, he won't be getting one. For now that seems to be the case.

My next son however, is saving and working hard to get a kx65, which I'm sure he'll get shortly.

really there isnt gonna be a huge power difference from one bike to the other, i have ridden the cr and yz 85s and i prefer the yammy. its more comfortable riding position amd very snappy power band. if your kid is large enough, i would over all recommend the ktm 85 becuase it is bigger and flat out hauls, ktm 85s always finish high in the ranks at all the races around here because they ride a bit more like a big bike and are so dam fast

i like my 96 cr80 and im 5'10 140lb hauled me around the track a couple days!

i got it for a few hundred and am now that im back on a 125 im selling it for a few hundred. you can find them cheap on craigslist usually and theyre good bikes
