Default Winners and losers at the same time?

Every now and then I will take a look at the threads from GMB's. I read the comments and look at the pics posted and remember the moments, both happy and sad. No matter how many times I have read the same thread I will still smile at the memories. Many times it is a good reality check for me.

This year seemed to be more special to me. I don't know if it because I knew more people than at my first GMB last year or our changed travel plans or exactly why. What I do know is that I felt at home, with friends and for a common cause. There were some pretty emotional moments for me like when Mike and Sara read the names of my friends who had passed during 2007. There were also times of hearty laughter that helped lift me from the sad moments. The visit is just a few short days but the memories will last forever.

Is it possible to be winners and losers at the same time??? You bet it is!!!

After re-reading my original post I guess I should further explain the pic. Mike and I lost a bet to George from the 2007 Super Bowl. We had to pay up at GMB-VI with the promised goods. As we are enjoying those goods George whispers something to Loukas who returns with these jerseys. As a reminder that we lost the bet, as if smoking the Macanudos and drinking the Crown Royal Reserve weren't enough, we were forced to wear them the jerseys the rest of the evening. There is also an inside joke to go along with the jerseys but it is just that, an inside joke. Some terrific laughter (win) in the middle of celebrating the life of Garrett M. Berg (loss). This is just one example of the spirit of GMB.

So yes, we lost yet we won.

It doesn't get much better than that.

I meant the friendship, not the Colts!

Thats good stuff right there. It as every year is for me a special time and special memories. Next year I will have a few more D-37 folks in tow! The jerseys was really hilarious as I saw them coming out of the bag before Mike and E and knew exactly what was going on!

George you did it right buddy you made them pay in more ways than just goodies, didn't he Mike!

Yeh - That pic makes me SMILE BIG TIME! That was a damn fine time. It will serve to remind me to never bet on the Chicago Bears again. The Reserve and the fine cigars were special, but the "company" - simply doesn't get any better.

Yes Dane - "Reserve" does not grow on trees, BUT when you are with the BEST no coin should be spared in my book. I would do it all again except I would have had more Reserve available for all..........

Still does not get any better than "Blue." I am still dreaming about that.........

Ouch..."never" is a term I never use. And yes, being led by Mike, Suzette and Shannon, the people of GMB are unmatched.
