With Mike's permission I share these pictures. Late Monday morning after this years GMB, Mike started washing the Splendora dirt from his Garrett's bike. As this started happening I listened to Mike share how much he missed his son. I wanted nothing more then to pitch in and help with the process but something held me back. With tears in his eyes and a trembling voice Mike shared right from his heart another moment of a father's pain. Yes, from the outside these are just pictures of a man washing a motorcycle. Being there, snapping these photos froze in time another moment of a man opening his heart and allowing the pain out and, all-be-it a small amount of healing in. Mike, I know you are very quick to say your just a father who has lost his son. But, your much more then that to me. You my friend are a one of a kind. I thand G_d Almighty for making our paths cross and I thank you Mike for allowing me to be a good friend of yours. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Those pics remind me of something. A few years ago, Clint washed his bike in the front yard. Lots of weeds and wild grass came up from the seeds that were in the dirt he brought home from Nocona MX. I was sort of

It never ceases to amaze me how simple gestures and heart felt posts like this touch me amd as siad many others. I find myself rereading the original thread at Thumper Talk and all the subforums' threads here. Tears come all too easily. Thank you Boyd and to Mike, I only hope I could be half the man and example you are under such extreme duress. God bless and keep you, Suzette and Shannon. Respectfully, Bill

I read this earlier today and it left me thinking. When I got home from work I saw that the mud in my driveway is still red with Splendora dirt. It reminds me that each and every one of us brings something to give to one another. Whether we like it (or each other) all the time, each of us can give, teach, learn from, or thank each other for. I know that's why I have made four trips to GMB and will continue each and every year. In Mike's case, all you have to do is just hang out and listen (hard for lawyers, I know). If you cannot find, hope, confidence, or strength in faith from Mike, well, you may just be hopeless. Pretty special time to share with us Boyd. Thanks. James

James, I couldn't say what you posted in a million years. Thanks for your prespectivee and thoughts. Being a lawyer has nothing to do woth listening and expressing your feelings, Anyone that works in Family law and does what you do for the GMB events is a good person. PERIOD. Bill

Bill- Thanks a bunch. I speak how a feel and my law school education sometimes gives me a bit better literary effect. Pretty easy to have strong feelings when you have the group of folks at GMB that we had this year. I tell lots of people that how you conduct yourself when things are good is one thing, but I really want to see how you conduct yourself when the chips are down. Character. I found that this year at GMB. I really wanted to bail on Saturday and head to Three Palms. REALLY wanted to, but I looked around and felt compelled, like many others, to do what we could and make the best of it. I found quite a few other who found what I found. James
